Mary Higham

Passed away peacefully with family on October 31, 2012. Beloved wife of Larry for 32 years and an inspiration of a mother to Jennifer(Jason), Michael(Adam) and Christine. Cherished daughter of Sabino Penna of Balzanno, Italy. Predeceased by her mother Giuseppina. Loved daughter-in-law of Roger Higham(the late Olga) and sister-in-law of Dave Higham(the late Rose). Mary will be watching over brothers and sisters – Fred Penna(Tammy), Tony Penna(Noreen), Angela Walters(Joe), Lisa Ciampa(Tony), and Silvanna – as well as her many nieces & nephews. Mary will be joining her late sister, Roseanne. Mary was a dedicated employee of Red Lobster for ten years and enjoyed the friendship and company of her coworkers. Mary always looked forward to the laughs and good times with her friends at Delta Bingo. A heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at the Dialysis Unit at Hotel Dieu for providing such attentive care and to the Niagara Health System Welland Site Renal Care Facility for the compassionate care Mary and her family received. The excellent homecare Mary received by the wonderful Person Support Workers at the Red Cross will never be forgotten. Mary will always hold a special place in the hearts of many. She loved her family and friends, her puppy Lucy and getting to be a Nonna for the first time to her grandson that she will no doubt be watching over.

A memorial visitation will be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1 – 3 PM. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Niagara Falls Humane Society would be appreciated.
