Mary's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the beloved PSWs and caregivers, for their compassionate support and care. Their willingness to help Mama Mary provided her with the opportunity to live independently for many years. Mary was passionate about her friends, family, PSWs and caregivers who touched her life.
Mary's determination for life inspired and touched so many lives. She expressed herself through art, poetry, fashion and philosophy. She was a collector of many eclectic, spiritual, historical, ethnical and artisan items. She shared her connection with nature through her love of animals (especially birds), sharing plant cuttings, and encouraging her grandson to proudly embrace his native heritage.
As a fierce advocate, Mary fought for equality and social justice for persons with disabilities and gave back to the community through a variety of volunteer efforts with numerous organizations.
Mary had a spiritual clairvoyance gift that she shared with everyone she met. She used her wit, charm and compassion to cheer others up. Friends would describe her as positive, charismatic, vivacious, fierce, genuine, fun, empowering and compassionate. She will be greatly missed by so many.
