

MacLEAN (neé Nicholson), Mary 'Mae' - Mae MacLean passed away peacefully at Willoughby Manor on Friday April 8, 2016 in her 89th year, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 23, 1927 to John Angus and Catherine (Campbell) Nicholson in Mabou, Nova Scotia. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; John (Josie), Mike (Diane), Therese Czychun (Andre), Betty MacLean-Darby (Leigh), Donald, Deanie, Rose Methner (Pete), Paul (Patti), Shirley Krueger (Paul), David (Dina) and honourary daughter Meg Mulligan. Cherished grandmother of 24 and dear sister of Tena MacInnis. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Alexander James MacLean (1991), daughter Mary Catherine, son Alexander Joseph, granddaughter Renee Alexandra Krueger, grandson John Francis MacLean Jr., sisters Elizabeth, Margaret, Theresa, Julia and Mary Ann and brothers Roddie, Jimmy, Angus, Michael, Joseph and Roderick. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, dedicated to her Catholic faith and was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Women's League for 34 years and stayed true to her 'down home' roots all the days of her life. Her faith and her roots shaped the very person she will be remembered as. FOIS SHIORRUIDH DHAIBH. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 pm at St. Patrick's Church.
