After many years of suffering with illnesses, Maurice Racine has passed away peacefully in his own home surrounded by loved ones during the afternoon of Saturday, January 3rd, 2015. Survived by his former spouse, friend and mother of his children, Debbie Bahry. Sadly missed by his children: Meaghan Racine-Smith, Rebecca Racine, and father in law "Pops" to Matthew Smith. Beloved grandpa "Papa" of Joshua, Meadow, Faith, Michelle, Maycei, and Angelynn. Cherished brother of Victor (Catharine), John (Shirley), Jeannette (Albert, predeceased), Bonnie, and the late Don Racine. Uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he held dear to his heart.
Maurice was also a dedicated teacher and role model to many students within the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.
A special thanks given to Dr. Drew Girard of Niagara Falls for being there when he needed you throughout the years.
In keeping with Maurice's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private service that will be open to family members only.
