Passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018 at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husband Harry (2007) and her daughter Marilyn (Guy) Brideau (2013). Survived by her daughters Lucille (Bob) Currie and Donna (Charlie) Hurrell. Beloved grandma to Raymond (Marianne), Julie (Terry), Jennifer, Nathan, (Beckey), and great-grandma to Madison, Ariel, MacKenzie, Drew, Brett and Reggie.
Norma was born in 1922 in Manchester, England and moved to Niagara Falls Canada at a very early age. After her family grew up and moved from home, Norma found time to become interested in visual arts. In 1966 Norma joined the Niagara District Art Association & for the next 41 years she has been a very active member, she held numerous executive positions including Secretary, Membership Chairman, Art Niagara Exhibition Chairman, Social Convener & Studio Gallery Chairman. Norma received numerous awards and honorable mentions for her art works in Canada ad the United States.
In 1989 Niagara University Art Gallery of Niagara Falls, New York chose a landscape painting of Norma’s for an international touring Art Exhibition in Europe including Dortmund, West Germany and the United States. In 1994 her dedication to promote Arts & Culture in Niagara Falls was awarded with a Barbara Frum award from the City of Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Committee and later was awarded a place on the Arts & Culture Wall of Fame in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and an inurnment to be held at Lundy's Lane Cemetery May 5th, 2018 at 1:30pm
