

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paisley Love Janvary-Pool in her 90th year, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, after a short illness. Dearly beloved mother of 5 children, Peter, Pam Gillespie, Alan (Karen), Ginny (Gord Paterson), and Margo (Tom Mussari). Dear grandmother of Derek (Beth), Marcy, James, Ellie, Allison (Martino Borghesi), Evan (Nicole), Melissa and Natalie (Vince), in addition to 2 great granddaughters, Cameron and Josie. Also survived by sister-in-law Margaret Falsetti, many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as Linda Boucher, Mary Pool and their families. Paisley was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Zoltan Janvary (1992) and her second husband, William (Bill) Pool (2020), her parents, Dr. W. A. Potter and Audree Gray, and her brothers Wilfred (Biff) Potter (Audrey) and Dr. W. A. (Peter) Potter.
Paisley's legacy of generosity and compassion for others was spread throughout her work in the community. She was a remarkable woman whose kindness, dedication and service to others will be remembered by all those who knew her. She was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, where she attended Simcoe and Maple Street schools and NFCVI. She then graduated from Hamilton Teachers’ College and later taught for DSBN.
Positively Paisley represented Niagara Falls as a City Councilor for 21 years, chairing many civic committees including the Sports Wall of Fame, the Recreation Commission, Canada Day Committee and the Accessibility Advisory Committee to name a few. Paisley was also an active leader and devoted member of Stamford Lane United Church, chairing the Board, teaching Sunday School and leading many committees and groups. She was a dedicated volunteer throughout her entire life. She volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club, Women's Hospital Auxiliary, NF Lioness Club, Big Sisters, Project Share as well as being a coach and past president of Minor Girls Soccer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 4th, 2025, at Stamford Lane United Church at 3855 St. Peter Ave. in Niagara Falls from 4 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held at 2 pm. on Saturday, April 5th also at Stamford Lane church.
