Sad to hear about Paisley’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her while I was with the City of Niagara Falls. She was a smart and decent woman who loved her community and all the people in it. Paisley worked very hard on behalf of the people of Niagara Falls.

In 1969 I was a grade 2 student at John Marshall School, I was having problems with phonics. I had Mrs  Janvary for a teacher I think she was a volunteer at the time, not sure.  Mrs Janavary was so kind, carrying and had lots of patience a real teacher. She was never one too if you didn't catch on we will move on, she stuck with the problem you were having till you fully understood it. Just wish I had her for a teacher all through school. People who touched your life you never forget them... My condolences too her family

I just learned that your mom recently passed away. I have many memories of your mom from when I was a kid when we would come over to play at your house,  during various events at Stamford United Church, later when I was a reporter for the Niagara Falls Review, and always as a wonderful friend of my father’s. Your mom was truly one of a kind and a very remarkable person. I don’t think that there has ever been anyone who was more giving or played a bigger role in their community.

I fondly recall those early days of minor girls’ soccer, and your Mom was such a great influence there. She was always friendly and vibrant whenever I’d run into her over the years. Alan, Ginny, Pam, Margo and Peter...it's probably been 45 years since we all hung out at your house in Niagara Falls but I remember the fun times as though it were yesterday. As I recall your mom was a wonderful woman and of course she will be greatly missed by everyone whos life she has touched. I'm sure she was proud of all of you and the families you have created to carry on her memory.

Pam, I was so sorry to read of your mom's passing .  What an amazing woman!  Loved running into her and chatting.   She always shared great memories of happy times.  We'll all miss her.

My heart goes out to all of you during this most difficult time.  I have so many memories of Paisley that I hold deep in my heart.  I first met Paisley when Jonathan went to JK.  Paisley was his teacher.  What an amazing teacher she was.  Years past, we amalgamate to Stamford Lane Church where I handed over the reins to Paisley to teach Sunday school after teaching Sunday school for over 20 years.  Another few years past and Paisley and Ginny show up at my 70th  birthday party!  Who would have thought that Derek & Jonathan become the best of friends.  It certainly is a small world!  Now Jonathan has a daughter Dorothy & Derek has  Josie!. Rest in Peace Paisley.  You certainly have left a huge legacy in all of us.  Love you my friend!

Paisley, a true mentor to kids growing up in Niagara Falls. As an old school mate of Biff, Pete. and Zoli, (U of T) I'm well acquainted with the contribution that the Potter family provided to their community.  But more so Paisley. She will be missed and always remembered.

She was a vibrant go getter with a wonderful sense of giving and enriching the lives of others known or unknown! She was always positive, bubbly and fully engaged with anyone she interacted with! Paisley Janvary-Pool was an amazing person who gave so much to her community and her church.  Mrs. Janvary was my Sunday School teacher and at times my grade school teacher and some summers my Vacation Bible School leader, She had a unique skill of being able to reach out to and communicate with children in a very special way.  Children felt valued and honoured by her way of communicating with them.  Paisley also made a huge contribution to our church.  As an adult who had grown from her classes, she always remembered me whenever I saw her and was so kind.  She left such a lasting and enduring legacy. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Paisley. She was such a special person. Her love for her family and commitment to her community were an inspiration. I don’t have the words to express how much I admired her, but I do know that her loss will be deeply felt by so very many.

I helped make buttons for her first campaign and was always so tickled to see her and catch up. She was the kind of politician we needed then and still need. So sad to read about your mom/ grandmas passing. She was such a dynamic woman and leader. Always enjoyed meeting up with her and catching up on her family and her many activities. Dear family of Mrs. Janvary, I have fond memories of her when I lived on Thorold Stone Rd. and Longhurst. She was a great soccer coach and mom to the friends Jean and I played with, mostly Margo. We used to play red light green light in front of the house. I remember she treated her kids to homemade french fries, I was kinda jealous. I think she even had the fire dept. down for a small fire because of the french fries, I learned that danger from that I think.  We enjoyed swimming in your pool too. And she was a fun Explorers leader or CGIT, I think with a Mrs. Olsen, I think. I am sad that I could not connect with her in her eighties. She would have been ninety. soon! What a blessing!
