Raymond Sidney Hudson

HUDSON, Raymond Sydney - Passed away peacefully at Eventide Home on Sunday March 1, 2015 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of 70 years to Helen Hudson. Dearly loved father of Dan (Marie) Hudson, David (Linda) Hudson, Michael (Karen) Hudson, Lynn (Mark) Sparkhall, Chris Grondin (Dan Campbell), and Mary McLean (Mike Marazzo). Lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Harold Short. Predeceased by his son Rick (1977), three brothers and one sister. Mr. Hudson had a long career as a Fire Captain with the Niagara Falls Fire Department, retiring after 35 years of service and he had also served as a firefighter in England during World War II. Mr. Hudson also volunteered for 25 years with Special Olympics and was on the Executive of the Coronation Centre for 20 years. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Mr. Hudson donations to The Alzheimer Society or The ONE Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Centre) would be appreciated by his family.
