Robert Egan

EGAN, Robert - Passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara on Monday March 31, 2025 at the age of 60. Beloved partner to Joyce Rizzo. Cherished father of Renee Egan, Michael Egan and proud stepfather to Joyce's children, Anthony Rizzo, Andrew Rizzo and Annissa Rizzo. Dear brother of John (Ninetta), Terry, the late Tom (Carol), the late Margaret (Randy), and the late Roseanne. Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to many memorable places, Robert worked at the Gatehouse Restaurant in Niagara on the Lake as manager/Chef for many years. His true joy and passion was to cook and feed people. When asked what his favorite meal was to prepare, his answer would be slow braised dishes because they demanded time and attention. He was a true gentleman at heart, always putting others before himself. Robert was thoughtful, generous and one of a kind. Although he was soft spoken and gentle, he was always the voice of reason when his loved ones needed him the most. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main Street, Niagara Falls. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday April 4, 2025 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Greek on Portage, 4414 Portage Road, Niagara Falls.
