So sad to hear of Sal’s passing. While at CN he was one of the funniest people to be around. Quite a character for sure but always in a positive way. Condolences to his loving family.

Words cannot describe what a truly beautiful human Sal P was…his forever smiles and goodness gave our family much laughter and so many memories to cherish. We were close neighbours and I remember when Sal came home from work Mike, Nick and Louise were beaming with adoration. Sal P was a father that gave everything to his family and all those blessed with knowing him. I remember Sal gifting me a truck tube to float down the river just because he was selfless and wanted me to smile and enjoy life!! Sal P was always willing to lend a hand, to give you a boost when your day was filled with frustrations. He was the dad who set off the fireworks on Montcalm Victoria Day weekend!! My son Roly learned to swim in the family pool while Sal made jokes and made him giggle so he was less anxious!! My sister Pat has bonded with the entire clan and that is a treasure in itself!! She has plenty of comical stories about Sal P. There’s no stopping Sal P he’s a legend and will never, ever be forgotten. Thanks Sal P for the light, the kindness and the honour of knowing you.

Working with him on the railroad and all the pranks we pulled on the gang of guys we hung out with, always bring a smile. He was one of a kind a great friend. We are so sorry to hear of Sal’s passing. I have so many great memories over the years of times on the pond, roasting by the stove in the basement and always having him crack a joke. A truly great loss for everyone. He will be missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Sal’s passing.  Sal was a huge presence in my St. Pat’s days.  Over the past six decades I have continued to tell stories about Sal, either playing basketball in the gym, or racing to home plate of the baseball diamond at recess to be first to call the position we wanted to play.  And who can forget Sal in Mother Kevin’s grade 6 class?  As part of my cherished grade eight graduating class of 1964, I’ll always remember Sal very fondly.  He has touched so many lives and has left us all enriched having known him.  Any contact anyone had with Sal be it large or small or indeed long ago as in my case left them a better person.  Thank you Sal, for the memories.  They will be with me always.

Dear Rita and the Pietrangelo family,  I am so sorry to hear of Sal’s passing.  It seems like only yesterday when we all met at Louise’s.  Sal had such a great smile, he made you feel welcome whenever he was around.  Although, we all live miles apart and don’t see each other often, he will be greatly missed.  My heart goes out to all of you.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Pietrangelo family.  We shared so many good times with Sal and Rita at arenas throughout Ontario.
