While Sylvia and I were good friends, when Therese was around, she was always interested in catching up. She was compassionate, outgoing, and so interesting to chat with. Dear Larry and Rothwell family, we are so sad to hear of Therese's passing.  I knew her since 1981 when we went to nursing school together.  Remembering all the times the 4 of us shared occasions, New Year's  Eve's, fireworks on Springhurst Ave, weekend trips up north, or just hanging out.  Therese and I took trips together, learned to ski together,  and laughed a lot together.  She was a very special person and I am lucky enough to have called her my friend. I did not know Therese personally but know she was a much beloved sister to Greg, Patrick and Sylvia.  My sincere condolences to all of Therese's extended family.

I'm so sad to hear of Therese's passing. I met Therese in 1972 when I started to work at the Queen Street Mental Health Centre and we very quickly became great friends. We travelled together to Mexico and Florida and other wonderful places. She was fun, funny, compassionate and just a delight to be around. So many beautiful memories. On Wednesday, I lost one of my dearest friends. We met at Queen Street in 1972, and have been friends ever since. We laughed (a lot!), enjoyed many wonderful travels, parties and  camping at Lake Simcoe with our many friends. Neither Therese nor I ever said no to a social activity, wherever it was!
I first met Larry ( the Lar, as we called him!) in 1984...great guy. I was privileged to drive Larry and Therese from their wedding reception to their honeymoon hotel, in a white Lincoln Towncar....
My sincerest condolences to the Rothwell and Downes families, who have lost a great, great warm and loving woman. So long, my friend....I miss you.

I am very saddened to hear of Therese's passing.  I met her through work at Home Care/CCAC.  Although I didn't know her well and didn't work directly with her, she was always pleasant and friendly.  I don't think I ever saw her without a smile on her face.

I met Therese at Queen St, in 1977, or 78, and have been friends, sisters, since then. We had some really good, fun times together, and she visited a couple of times, out to BC. The fist time she came out, she had just met Larry, and she was so smitten with him! I think the last time I saw her, was in 2001, when I came back to bury my Mom, and my son Patrick and I stayed with she and Larry in NOTL. We talked and laughed all night! We spoke with other frequently after that. Therese had a  wonderful sense of humour, and I will never forget her laughter, and laughing so hard sometimes, we almost peed our pants. I will truly, truly miss her and our enduring Friendship. My Heartfelt condolences to Larry, her Sister and Brothers, and the rest of the Family.  I will miss her, always.

The memories of our many Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners and celebrations at your home will be our way of keeping Therese in our hearts always. We became more than friends, we became a part of your family. Know that we will be here for all of you.
