I have always loved to hear Vicky's voice as she said my name with such excitement when she greeted me.  "Daaay vid".   This greeting made me feel very loved and special as a child .. and if I am honest, as an adult too.  I'm sure you can relate! 
It was even more special that she carried on this trait when she would say her grandchildren's names.  For me, the first was "Er riii ka!"   And Grandma Vicky's warmth and excitement was felt by my children Martha and Nathan too as she talked and played with them, giving them her full attention!  Emi and I felt so so happy to see that!  
Vicky and I (and many of us) could have long conversations on the phone that were very honest, satisfying and fun!  Growing up, some of my favourite memories are related to food.   I remember her spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread as well as sharing Oreo cookies.   And of course Coke!  
It is very difficult for me that I can not be there at this time.  My prayers are with all of us, family and friends, as we mourn.  
I miss you Vicky and love you very much,

I am now often asked my favourite memory with my grandma, something to hold with me and think about whenever I miss her. If I had to be honest, I do not have a favourite memory. There is not one moment throughout our time spent together that I could proudly say is my favourite memory with her. Her presence was my favourite memory; every phone call, every laugh, every piece of gossip we would tell each other. She taught me what it meant to be loved unconditionally; to love completely and be loved completely, the rest is confetti. Victoria never failed to see the good in people, even when all everyone else would focus on was the bad. I was beyond lucky to have said that I not only knew her, but was able to create such a beautiful and lasting connection with her that very few people will ever get in their lives. Her infectious energy, her loud spirit, and her never-ending kindness is what I will hold close to me when I miss her; the rest is confetti.

My sincerest condolences to all of Vicky's family. I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that Vicky's is finally at peace and is with her beloved husband Denis.❤️
