My parents Elisabeth and Jan W. Jurkiewicz were friends of Walter and Sophie when he worked with my Father at Ford Glass Plant. My father, Jan, was also from Poland and they shared many stories together.  I was a young teen at the time but I do remember his quiet demure and Sophie and my Mom got along very well.  They are also both gone. My sincere condolences Sophie to you and your family in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Dear Sophie, Bob, Ed And family!
 It is with great sadness on Walter’ s passing as he was truly wonderful, loving, caring man and will be missed by everyone that knew him. He was one of ten young handsome men that settled in Windsor after coming to Canada by way of Hearst Ontario where they were all “lumberjacks”. My husband Wieslaw Jablonski  was one of them!   They all married Canadian born girls and we had some good times together which has created many lasting memories that we cherish. Unfortunately Walter was the last one and now he is sadly gone too. I will remember his smile, his laugh, singing Polish songs and playing the Harmonica —a very kind man to everyone who knew him. Rest In Peace Walter and keep the rest of the group laughing and singing up there in Heaven! Sincere condolences to you Sophie and all the family! With love—❤️🙏❤️

We were so sorry to hear of uncle Walter's  passing. He was truly  a legacy.  I will always remember  him as part of my childhood.  May he rest in peace and give all of you strength in his  memory.

I took an intense interest listening to his stories about his days in Poland during the second world war.  He has left a legacy of discipline and resilience for his grandchildren to follow. To our beautiful Auntie Sophie, Bob, Ed and family: What a deep loss you must all feel.  Uncle Walter was an absolute gem of a human being--kind, humble, strong, an amazing husband and father--they don't make them like that anymore.  Auntie Sophie and Uncle Walter shared such a loving and special relationship throughout their 68 year history--dedicated to each other, loyal, and so committed to one another and their family.  Theirs is a love story for the history books.  We are so blessed to have such fond memories of them--their kindness to us Oreskovich kids will never be forgotten. We were so lucky to have grown up across the street from them.  How much fun we had with them and we will never forget that Auntie Sophie and Uncle Walter even looked after our gerbil for us! They always opened their house and their arms to us --truly special people. May God Bless Uncle Walter and may He give Auntie Sophie the strength to remember that Walter will live with her always in her heart and her mind until they are reunited in heaven once again.
