Zak ...I'm remembering our times working together in N.Falls and Fort Erie...the  trip to Florida and our times at the Caverly Hotel before the railroad and so many memories that words could not  describe...you're now free...soar my friend... 

I became friends with Wayne at homewood and I'm a better person for it. Tough as nails with a soft side to him.  His insight inspired me to slow down and breath a bit more.

I know Wayne because I worked with him at CN in Chatham on the 514 Road Switcher and my deceased husband Kris Burleigh worked with him in Chatham and in Sarnia. He was a super guy and very personable. Wayne had a heart of gold.  My sincerest condolences to his family.

Wayne had a great sense of humour ,was a railroad professional, who loved trains and being around trains.

He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him.

I met Wayne in Windsor in 1993 I think, through a friend that worked at CN. He was a hoot to be around and we became friends immediately. I moved to Sarnia in 1995 and didn’t think I’d ever see him again. I was in a Tim Horton in Petrolia and heard a familiar voice I knew was Wayne’s I was so happy to see him again!!  Funny that he would buy a house in sarnia two blocks from mine.  Wayne loved his dogs and was a great guy. I’m gonna miss him and his crazy stories.  Rest In Peace Wayne 

Zak you will be missed we grew up downtown and new every secret alleyway on Queen st.  I will always remember listening to Led Zeppelin 4 in your bedroom and that fateful day your dad caught us with the cigarettes. Ahhhh! but he never told my parents and you my friend were that same type of stand up guy,always looking out for your buddies , standing up for the underdog and being there when needed. Wayne was a wonderful person.  He was our little cousin and is gone too soon.  I hope the family finds peace in knowing that he lived and loved life to the fullest.  I hope he has found peace with his dad and uncle Ed and aunt Madeline.

As a young child I remember making pizza's at Christmas time with the whole family, and swimming at Aunt Lorraines pool. These memories will be with with me all the time. Zak was charismatic and an all around good guy. He was my cousin as well as a great friend. He helped me out quite a few times. When I needed to take a trip to Montreal on the train he got me a free employee ticket and said "tell them you are my wife and no one will bother you."

Well let’s try this again. I wrote out a long winded story filled with memories only to lose it somehow. Well I guess that happens when growing up the biggest tech rage was a Texas instrument calculator. Well bud I have so many memories that could be related being that we were friends from the age of six. From smoking our first cig to drinking our first beer to smoking a joint before going up the CN Tower and saying this will be the highest we’ll ever get. Boy were we wrong😀 Zak we had so many good times together partying at the beach or at the under the bridge Tavern in the states. (Are close friends remember that place). To catching Blue Jays games in old exhibition stadium. Although we lost tough in our later years something would come up that would trigger a memory of you bud. We talked briefly on face book and got to see your girl friend and dog but that was about it I did get a email supposedly by you from a company selling weight loss products and I thought you bugger wait till I talk to you next. But that time never came. I’m going to miss the thought of you not being around. I wish we would have kept closer contact my friend. I had a great chat with your mom she sounds great but I’m sure she is grieving something terrible inside. You will be sadly missed my old friend and until we meet again keep spinning those Jimmy Morrison albums and don’t take any wooden nickels.😎🤪

I have many memories of Zak probably beginning from the age of 12 yrs old riding bicycles around the city of Niagara together. I just want to mention this one small memory I have of my friendship with him at this time  as this is one that stands out in my mind always when thinking of Zak. When we were in grade 9 in physical Ed class we took the co-ed exercise dance class  for the fun of it. Wayne, for some reason missed most of the classes. (hmmm?). Well on the last day of this silly dance class program and time for our test and grading, Wayne did finally show up and had to demo a dance that was taught during the term that he missed. The dance was called the "Amos Moses". (I will never forget this Zak), well to all other students and teachers surprise, Wayne danced that dance perfectly as if he created and choreographed  it and could teach it himself. I had not missed one single class and still didn't get it nor do it right and actually ended up following  and copying  Wayne's moves to help me get through it and pass too.  I was amazed at him for being like that.  That's just one of the very small amazing  things about him. This is also  just one of the many happy  memories I have  of Mr. Bazz.  The latest communications with him was a few  yrs ago when he helped me obtain some vintage collectable banjo ukuleles from a collector in Windsor, Ont.  and then just a few months ago regarding his common interest with me in old George Formby records. We enjoyed a lot of the same variety of music. He was always a pleasure to chat with. He seemed to have disappeared from Facebook from that time on. I wish we could've kept in communication.  RIP my good 'ol childhood pal. You will be missed here on earth. See ya later my friend. Cheers! ( My thoughts are with you & your family at this time.   Peace & love to you all.  <3

 In 1988 Zack lived with Dave and I in Fort Erie for a short time.   He was a lot of fun and very protective of his friends.

I had the opportunity to work with Zak out of Niagara Falls for many years. He was a character to be sure, one that endeared him to all. An alround great guy.  Condolences to his family and loved ones! RIP Zak!

Zak  and I were co-workers in Sarnia.  He was a great guy to work with, sorry for your family’s loss. RIP Brother!
