William 'Bill' Farrell

FARRELL, William 'Bill' - Passed away suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday August 28, 2015 in his 84th year. Loving husband of 57 years to Janet (Humphrey) Farrell. Dearly loved father of Kathryn Farrell, Bruce (Terry) Farrell, Lenora (Jim) Bellavia and Maureen (Scott) Tordoff. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Paterson, Cameron, Paisley, Matthew, Owen and Colleen. Dear brother-in-law of Fred Sakowski, Elizabeth Nowell, Barbara de Groot and Dorothy Sample. Predeceased by his parents William and Edith Farrell and his sister Katharine Sakowski. Bill was an active parishioner at St. Thomas More Church where he served as an usher. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1652 where he had the distinction of being the longest active member with 59 years of service. During that time he held various offices within the Knights of Columbus including District Deputy and currently he served as the Financial Secretary. He leaves behind many good friends to cherish his memory. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Bill, donations to St. Thomas More Church Building Fund or Heart Niagara would be appreciated by his family.
