Cynthia Bowes

Norwich – Cynthia Bowes, RN, BSN died Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Cynthia was born on September 2, 1934 in Beverly, MA the daughter of Albert and Eleanor Tucker. She earned her credential as a registered nurse at New England Baptist Hospital Nursing School, and her BSN from Assumption University, Worcester, MA. She married Rev. Dr. David Bowes, Jr. on September 3, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Beverly, MA. Cynthia lived in several states along the east coast while her husband served as a chaplain in the Navy until his retirement from the Navy in 1983. She worked in several hospitals during that time while raising their four children. Cynthia finished her career locally at L + M Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association of CT.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children and their families, son Scot and his wife Yolanda, daughters Gail, Lynnette and her husband Renato, Lisa and her husband Frank, two sisters Joan and Ginger and her husband Jack, sister-in-law Marilyn and her husband George, grandchildren Tracy and fiancé Doug, James and wife Bridget, Scot and wife Guna, John and wife Ashley, Jaime, Renny, Heather and husband Adam, Leighann and husband Jeff, Sean and wife Julie, Jessica and husband Chris, Daniel and wife Melanie, Gillian and husband William, Aaron and wife Pear and Nicholas and wife Ana; great-grandchildren Alix and husband Kyle, Lonnie, Teia, Thomas, Colette and James, Elizabete and Viktorija, Roman and Vincent, David, Leland, and Gracen, Vivian, Jocelyn and Logan, Hailey, Amani, Briella, Casen, and Dahlia, Lennox, and great-great grandson Everett.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00am at the Niantic Baptist Church in Niantic. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment will be private. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Niantic is handling the arrangements.
