OBITUARY

Donna M. Annino

April 20, 1946January 31, 2020

Haddam- Donna (Kreitner) Annino, 73, of 141 Filley Rd., passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Annino was born on April 20, 1946 in Catskill, NY, the daughter of Donald and Helen Kreitner. She married Joseph Annino in 1967. She received her Registered Nursing degree from Meriden School of Nursing in 1965. She worked as an RN for 38 years at Memorial Hospital, Undercliff State Hospital and Long Lane School where she published a medical journal. In Donna’s early years, she loved cruising with her husband on their motorcycle. After starting work in the ER, she excelled at youth counseling in her nursing career because she had a rare ability to connect with adolescents. She was an avid reader and very involved with her sons’ athletic activities, keeping statistics, shooting videotapes and cheering them on. In her later years, she enjoyed fishing with her husband. Her hobbies were gardening, bird watching and she was an animal lover. Mrs. Annino is survived by her loving husband Joseph, her sons Michael (Dina) Annino of Middletown and Joseph (Kelly) Annino of Bristol, her brother Chuck Kreitner of Daytona Florida, sister Kathy (Klyde) Dumont of Meriden, her Grandchildren Mia, Layla, Tyler and Delaney, sister in law Karen (Joseph) Wysocki, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved dog Bubbles. To honor Donna’s wishes, services will be private for her family. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Donations may be made in her memory to the Sandy Peszynski Breast Cancer Foundation Inc., 93 East High Street, East Hampton, CT 06424.
