

She was born in New London, December 17th, 1944, to Evelyn (Cobb) and Murray C. Flanders, of Niantic, her parents and two grandsons predeceased her, Ethan Pelletier and Dante Yuhas.
Betty leaves behind her loving husband, Lawrence “Larry” Anhalt, her five children and their spouses, Robin (Andrew) Pelletier of Salem, Donna (Timothy) Yuhas of Niantic, Gary Anhalt of Waterford, Julie (Joshua) Donahue of Niantic, Cathy Anhalt and her partner Mark Barry of Danielson, grandchildren Duane Yuhas ( VA), Leo (Brenna) Pelletier of Niantic, Jessica (Andrew) Law of NC, Stacy (Jeff) Jodoin of Salem, Hanna Pelletier of D.C., Brandon Anhalt and Bryanna Barry of Danielson, Joshua Donahue Jr. of CA, Mackinzie Donahue of Niantic, and great-grandchildren Cooper, Tucker, Wilder, Aria, Noah, Violet, Edmund, and Griffin. She also leaves behind her brothers William (Alice) Flanders of SC, James (Marie) Flanders of TX, and their families.
Betty will be missed, but fondly remembered as a kind and loving soul who loved to brag about her family, growing up in Niantic, and being a “navy brat”. She took pride in everyone’s accomplishments and saw the good in everything and everyone. She would go out of her way to do or give to help anyone in need. Betty was a member of Unit 128 of the American Legion Auxiliary and held several jobs, taking the most pride in being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She loved country music, dancing to Elvis and Chuck Barry, watching Gidget, Lassie, and BJ and the Bear. Betty was an avid CB radio personality known as “Candy Bar” back in the day, loving to meet people, and even graduated from truck driving school just for fun. Betty will be remembered most of all by her family as a positive and caring light, who loved to have fun and make everyone happy.
