Ms. Chapman was born on October 13, 1926 in East Lyme to Peter and Anna Shabunia.
In early years she was employed at Sheffield Tube New London and later was head house keeper at the Golden Spur Motel.
Ms. Chapman is predeceased by her husband, Bruce C. Chapman. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Burleson, Mary Jane Gardner, Diana MacDonald; sister-in-law, Miriam Shabunia; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 1 until 3 PM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic.
