Jane Duffield Reitz

Jane was born on November 25, 1940 in Olean, NY. She was the daughter of Ann and Joe Duffield who resided in Warren, PA.

She graduated, with a bachelor’s degree in business education, from Villa Maria College. She went on to first teach in Rocky Hill, CT. Then moved back to Pennsylvania, to teach at Eisenhower High School in Norristown, PA. Shortly after is when she met her future husband, Larry Reitz, in Lansdale, PA in the summer of 1968. One year later they were married in November 1969. Jane was a loving, caring, strong woman who took care of her family in her later years. She had the brightest smile anyone had ever seen, and put everyone else’s needs before her own.

Jane is survived by her loving husband Larry; children, Greg (Cassandra) Reitz and former wife - Eliza Reitz of Maryland, Amy Reitz and Chris Monty of Salem, CT; grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Joseph, Ariya, and Charli. Jane is predeceased by her parents, brother, Jim Duffield, and his son, Scott Duffield.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic, CT 06357. A Service will follow at 11:00 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Salem Green Cemetery, Salem, CT.
