Mrs. Downar was born July 10, 1925, in Yonkers, New York, to William and May Bernarczyk.
Jennie lived with her beloved dog Heidi and husband of 58 years, Louis Downar until his death on February 29, 2020.
She worked many years for Otis Elevator and various retail jobs in Yonkers. Mrs. Downar spent more than 60 years in Connecticut. She will be dearly missed by her niece Andrea Eshoo-Kunka (Curtis), and nephews Arthur Eshoo (Randi) and Albert Eshoo (Joyce), her great nieces Katherine Eshoo and Arianna Eshoo as well as longtime family friends Gary Tiller and Lorraine McKinney. The family would also like to thank her caregiver Nolina Gaston.
At her request, no service will be held.
