

Mrs. Di Roberts was born on September 15, 1920 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of William and Kathryn (Donnelly) Lynch. She was the beloved sister of Kathryn Burdette and the late Ruth Dunn. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford and Teacher’s College of Columbia University in NY with a Master’s Degree in Home Economics. She married Elgio Di Roberts on June 22, 1946 in Hartford. For twenty years, she taught Home Economics in the Hartford school system. She was a member of the Metropolitan Women’s Club in Hartford, the Duck River Garden Club and the Clinton Country Club. She was also a member of St. John Church in Old Saybrook.
Mrs. Di Roberts is survived by her two sons, William and his wife, Barbara Di Roberts of Niantic, and Robert and his wife, Janice Di Roberts of Wethersfield; two daughters, Joan and her husband, Frank Collins of Edgartown, MA and Mary Ann Di Roberts and her husband, Rick Thompson of Belmont, MA; her grandchildren: Jason, Courtney, Nikki, Abby, Michael, Laura, Gracie, Mary, and Andy; and great grandchildren: Christopher and Julian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral procession will assemble on Tuesday, March 5th at 9:30 a.m. at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic and will proceed to an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Church in Old Saybrook. Burial will follow at the Connecticut Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, March 4th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
