Mildred Victoria Mandolfo

entered into eternal rest on Friday ( May 22, 2015).

Born in New Britian, CT, she was the daughter of the late

John and Louisa Schiaffi.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband James of 61 years who passed away in 2012. Milly was a long time parishioner of St. Agnes Church of Niantic. She enjoyed long and successful careers at both the Stanley Works and The Hartford Insurance, rising to positions of great responsibility. She was an amazing seamstress who created beautiful clothes for her children as they grew up, and later went on to make amazing things for her home. Later in life she embraced retirement fully, running circles around friends and family having a great time. She also enjoyed their home at the shore, she loved the beach and could be seen swimming (often in a wet suit depending on the weather) daily in Long Island Sound. We all have fond memories of seeing Milly looking stylish with her big sunglasses in her convertible VW. A gourmet meal was a sure thing whenever you stopped by Milly’s. She loved to garden, travel, shop, tag sale with her husband and live life to the fullest.

Milly is survived by her three children, Jayne Turek and her husband Thomas and their daughters, Sara and Lauren of Woodbury; Elizabeth Pistritto and her children Nina, Michael and Christopher of Bolton; and James Mandolfo and his wife Debbie and their children, Ethan and Lia of Haddam Neck. One of Milly's greatest joys was spending time with her Great Grandson Jackson. Milly was predeceased by her sister Helen Pankonin who passed away on March 3, 2015.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday June 1st at 10:30 AM at St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Avenue, Niantic, CT. Followed by burial at East Lyme Cemetery where she will be placed in her final resting place along with her beloved husband.
