Wilfred A. Vachon, Sr. (Bill) -Born April 12, 1942, (78) Passed away November 3, 2020, at Madison House Rehab Facility after a brief battle with dementia, with his daughter Melissa at his side. Born to the late Urban Vachon and Dorothy Nadeau in Laconia N.H. Bill grew up in Connecticut until he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Airborne and Infantry as Staff Sgt. And Drill Instructor. He served in the Vietnam & Korean wars. He then continued his service in Germany, North Carolina and Georgia.

While serving at Ft. Benning Georgia, He met and married his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Jamison .( Who survives him). Married for 27 years, They moved to Colchester, Connecticut and raised their family.

In 1989 he met his second wife, Vada Griffith, he was married to for 30 years until she pre-deceased him in October 2019. They lived in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and finally settled back in East Lyme Connecticut.

Bill loved the ocean whether it as boating or surf fishing in Rhode Island with his kids following behind ...He also loved hunting and camping in New Hampshire with family & friends, country music and western movies. He and Vada also enjoyed spending time at the casino playing slots. His greatest love was his companion dog Sarah.

He leaves behind his children: Wilfred A. Vachon, Jr. (Juli), Roger Vachon (Andrea), Debra Wolf (William), Keith Vachon (Michelle), Melissa Boughton. Step Children: Nancy Lockwood and Dennis Lockwood. Grandchildren: Joey Vachon, Rebecca Ledoux, Luke Ledoux, Jocelyn Vincent, Kayla Boughton, Eddie Wigglesworth, Brittany Wigglesworth , Lexie Lockwood. Stepmother Beatrice Vachon, sisters Beverly Vachon, Linda Barone, Karen Rich, Brother Arthur Vachon. 3 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be private.

Well I wrote this really beautiful but sad memory about about how hard it was and being there with you and telling you it was ok to go with Vada and you looked up and smiled at me but then took your last breath! Well all my mush got erased so this is it...glad I was there with you at the end to know you were really cumfy and I Made my peace! Thanks for serving your country and oh your sperm!!! 😉 RIP WILFIE! I’ll miss you and Sarah!!! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

I am so sorry that we never got to take that trip to Laconia that we talked about so that you could share your boyhood memories of the area. I will miss you immensely, Bill! I love you my big Brother!
