Patricia Ann Privett, age 84, crossed from the limits of this world into the radiant, living presence of her Savior - the moment her faith became sight - on October 12, 2026. Patricia was born on June 23, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Estill Creech Sr. and Rose Vires Creech.
Patricia was known for her beauty, her elegance, and her strong spirit. She cherished her Kentucky bluegrass roots and was also drawn to the peacefulness of palm trees and ocean breezes - the two landscapes that shaped her - carrying a bit of Florida sand in her shoes everywhere she went. She moved through life with grace, polish, and quiet dignity - the kind of refined class you'd see on a Derby morning in Kentucky. Her warm laugh and gentle presence brought joy to everyone around her, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Many in her family knew her as Peach or Peaches - a nickname she never quite embraced but could never outgrow, because those closest to her used it with such affection. Peach suited her in ways she never admitted: sweet, strong, unforgettable. Patricia's faith in Jesus was the steady foundation of her life; for so many years, it was her anchor through every storm. She no longer walks by faith, for it has truly been made sight.
She is survived by her daughters, Jill Ryder, Cindy Tollefson (Lester Tollefson), and Barbara Baker; and by her four grandchildren: Savannah Rose Ryder (Addi), Desiree Baker, Elijah Bashaw, and Melissa Sims. Fourteen greatgrandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive, Patricia.
Patricia survived as well with her sisters, Betty Jean Huffman, and Fanny Rose Hensley - who loved her fiercely as their baby sister. Their grief now is deep, but so is the comfort of knowing she has stepped into presence of their Savior.
Her last few years on earth were held close by the people who circled the wagons and held space around her - especially her Kentucky family, who welcomed her home
again and again with open arms. Those trips back to Kentucky were filled with familiar faces, laughter, and the kind of love that comes from generations woven together. Her sisters, and her nieces, nephews, and their children surrounded her with a tenderness that made her feel rooted, remembered, and deeply cherished.
She also carried a special affection for her Florida family and community. She visited the church her nephew pastors and listened to his services online every Sunday, a connection that made her feel close to her Kentucky roots no matter where she was. During the 14 months she lived with Jill, she shared a precious bond with little Addi, who called her "Nana Peach" and tended to her with tiny hands - fetching her cane and walker, making artwork together, and placing bandages on Nana's boo-boos with all the seriousness of love. Rose, who shares her Nana's Florida heart and so much of her spirit, was another bright thread in that tapestry of affection. So many memories from Kentucky, Texas and Florida now rest in the hearts of those who loved her - memories the family will cherish forever.
Cindy and Jill made a sacred promise never to place their mother in a skilled nursing facility, and they honored it. During her final years, Patricia divided her time between their homes, always surrounded by love and care. She spent her final chapter in Texas, another place she called home, with Cindy and Lester. Cindy cared for her mother with quiet, everyday tenderness, guiding her through declining health with patience and love. Throughout those months, Lester showed fierce devotion through every difficult and gentle moment, loving her with the steadfast loyalty of the son she never had. The family will always be grateful for the tenderness that surrounded her. They made her feel seen, tended to, and loved & adored in her last days - a gentleness the family will hold close forever.
She was preceded in death by her father, Estill Creech Sr.; her mother, Rose Vires Creech; and her brother, Estill Creech Jr.
Patricia often dreamed of her parents and her brother - all three together, smiling and dancing with a joy that felt almost too bright for this world. The family cherishes the thought that she has now joined them in that happiness - all four of them, whole and together again - laughing, dancing, and welcoming her into a joy so full it makes the rest of us ache with longing. We know where our treasure is, and we will one day join that homecoming.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Community Healthcare of Texas for their tender care during Patricia's final days.
A private service will be held at a later date.
