Betty Jean Dufrene

February 23, 1941 – March 12, 2025
Obituary of Betty Jean Dufrene
IN THE CARE OF

H.C. Alexander Funeral Home

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Dufrene, of Luling, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Buchannan and Emma Jean Humphrey, and her beloved husband, Marlin Dufrene, who she is now reunited with. She was survived by her children, David, Dennis, Angela, and Victoria, and her stepchildren, Lori, Carla, Patti, and Timmy, along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Betty will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who knew her for the incredible love and joy she brought into the world.

A passionate reader and talented painter, Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known for her warmth, wisdom, and generosity of spirit. She worked as a dedicated realtor with Prudential Gardner for over 30 years, where she built lasting relationships and earned the respect of her clients and colleagues alike.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, whether it was sharing stories, eating good food, tending to her plants, or simply enjoying the quiet moments in each other's company. Her home was always a place where laughter echoed and memories were made. Betty will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

While her physical presence may no longer be with us, her love and the beautiful memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.

A private service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to research institutions such as the Cancer Research Institute or American Cancer Society, causes Betty was passionate about.
