David Joseph Landeche “Pops” passed away surrounded by family at his home on September 29, 2026, at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife, his greatest love of 44 years, Anne Haydel Landeche. Loving father of Jared C. Landeche (Ashley), Jonathan D. Landeche (Caitlyn), and Melissa A. Landeche. Devoted grandfather to Bryce Charles, Amelie Fay, and Bennett Cole. He is survived by his mother, Fay Schillaci Landeche and siblings, Barry J. Landeche (Donna), Laura L. Gauthreaux (Murphy), and Kerry J. Landeche (Robyn), as well as many nieces, nephews, and family members. He is also survived by his grand dogs, whom he adored, Sage, Wrigley, Dolly, Sophie, and even Izzy. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Adolph Landeche, and his beloved dog, Peanut.
David was a devoted catholic and faithful parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish, he was a proud graduate of Destrehan High School and a member of the 1973 Destrehan High School championship football team. David had a passion for golf and cherished the times he played with his father, brothers, sons and many golf friends. He also had a deep love for music, especially playing the drums and piano. No matter the occasion, if there were drums nearby, David was sure to find his way to them and join the band. His love of family, music and fellowship brought joy to those around him.
Above all, he adored his three grandchildren, whom he shared with his loving wife. They were his world, and he never missed an opportunity to be there for them. He proudly attended their games and activities, proudly cheering on Bryce Charles, “The Golden One.” He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him but he will be forever loved and never forgotten. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is now resting peacefully with our Lord.
