Dorothy "Dot" Barbara Schexnayder Ayme

Dorothy “Dot” Barbara Schexnayder Ayme was born on Mardi Gras day, March 5, 1924 and passed away on April 21, 2022 at the age of 98. Daughter of the late Marie Inez Madere Schexnayder and Albert Joseph Schexnayder, Sr. She married her loving husband, the late Neal Joseph Ayme, Sr. on October 23, 1948.

Mother of the late Neal Joseph Ayme, Jr. and Kyle Paul Ayme. Mother-in-law to Kathy Braud Ayme and the late Rhonda Ann Lavergne Ayme. Grandmother of Adam Joseph Ayme (Gabby Hebert) and Aaron Jude Ayme, and great grandmother of Blayze Joseph Ayme. Sister of the late Joseph Albert Schexnayder (late Ida Guidry Schexnayder), Clyde Hubert Schexnayder (Maryanne), the late Brenda Marie Schexnayder, and Ethel Mae Schexnayder Demars.

Dot worked at Sacred Heart School for over 25 years. She loved playing golf and bowling, travel, trips to the casino and playing card games with family. She was a very independent person. She never looked her age and no one would believe her age when they would find out. She lived a great life, seeing so many life changes. She was still living by herself and driving at age 97. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 401 Spruce St. Norco, LA, at 11AM. Visitation will begin at 9AM.
