

Emmett C. Carmouche “Gabié “ passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. He was the loving husband of the late Carole Ann Gassen Carmouche. Father of Carl Langley(Sonya), Mark Langley(Cynthia), Robert Langley(Elly), Carla Langley, Greg Carmouche(Mary), Karen Parson(Thomas), John Langley and Ann Grob(Carey). Grandfather to Cami, Michael, Justin, Evan, Robbie, Jennifer, Jessica, Hannah, Marcelle, Joseph, Daniel, Bruce, Joshua, Zack, Zoey, Chase and Caitlin and 10 great grandchildren. Emmett was born on December 8, 1938 to his parents Fulgence Carmouche and Anna Simon Carmouche. He was raised by his Aunts Myrthee Simon and Olive Simon after the passing of his mother in 1939. Emmett is also survived by 6 of his siblings; Beulah Carmouche, Ethel Carmouche Mancuso, James Carmouche, Allen Carmouche, Harry Carmouche and Don Carmouche. He is preceded in death by 5 of his siblings; Annette Carmouche, Rene Carmouche, Earl Carmouche, Irvin Carmouche and Herbert Carmouche.
Gabié was an extremely dedicated worker. He worked at Shell-Motivia for 36 years as one of the only Tinsmiths and was a member of the United Steel Workers (USW) Local 750. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Gabié loved all things mechanical, working with his hands and finding ways to fix and improve things. He loved spending time with his family and friends. The family camp in Mississippi holds a lot of memories for all of his kids. In lieu of flowers, if preferred, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and the St. Charles Humane Society. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Ochsner Kenner Hospital for their kindness and loving care of our dad, Emmett Carmouche.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, La on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 12 Noon till the time of Mass at 2PM.
