

Gail was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Lancaster and her parents Peggy and John Mahaney.
She is survived by her loving family: her sister, Jacklin Purvis (Sonny); her daughter, Janet Bon (Eddie); her grandchildren, Christina Debram (Kyle), Joshua Burgess, and Jared Bon. Nephew Matthew Purvis (Melissa) great niece and nephew Conner and Cameron and last but by far not least her cherished great-granddaughter, Krystal Debram.
Born on February 23, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Gail was the first daughter of the late Peggy and John Mahaney. In her early years she would ride dirt bikes and race go karts with her family. She also traveled to and lived overseas as well as many different states. She loved to travel, play bingo and go to the casino with her friends. She resided in St. Rose, Louisiana, for the past 35 years, where she made many lasting friendships and memories.
Gail dedicated many years of service as a switchboard operator at Marshall Brothers Lincoln-Mercury. She later worked as a security guard for BPE for five years and for Vinson Guard Services for another five years. She was known for her dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic throughout her career.
Gail will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the kindness she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Egan Healthcare, Ochsner Infusion Center (Luling) Tom & Gayle Benson Cancer Center & Compassus Hospice Care for the compassionate care and support they provided. An extra special thank you is extended to Ms. Andrea, Ms. Jennifer, and Ms. Leesa for their kindness, comfort, and exceptional care during Gail's final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home 22 Apple Street Norco, Louisiana 70079. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens 11316 River Rd, St Rose, LA 70087.
Though she has left this earthly life, Gail's love, warmth, and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
