

Henry Nevin “Hank” Bretz, Jr., age 72 of Killian, LA, joined his loving mother in heaven on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. Hank was born on September 30, 1952 in Montgomery, AL to Mr. Henry Nevin Bretz, Sr., and Mrs. Ethel Theresa Banquer Bretz. He graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, LA and attended LSU. Hank was a retired Construction Superintendent and worked for Baton Rouge Wood Products as Manager and Draftsman. He was an adamant fan of the New York Yankees, LSU sports and the New Orleans Saints.
Hank was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Bretz and his brother-in-law Charles Sonnier, Sr.
Survivors include his loving father Henry Bretz, Sr.; his siblings, Mary Catherine Parker (Ronnie) and Paula Sonnier Melear (Mike); his son, Henry Nevin “Nevin” Bretz, III (Patty); and his granddaughters, Arianna and Isabella Bretz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Mrs. Madeline and Mrs. Janice, and the caring nursing staff at The Carpenter House and Center Point Nursing Home for the love and care they all provided our loving son and brother.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd, Destrehan, LA 70047 on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:30am. Visitation will be held at church from 9:30am to 11:30am. Burial will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery.
