Ira R. Landry passed away peacefully at his home in Norco, LA, on April 5, 2026. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Jo Ann Landry; his children, Mark S. Landry and Dena L. Joanos; and his grandchildren, Avery J. Joanos and Adrian M. Joanos. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Vivian Landry, and his siblings, Janice Becnel and Eric Landry.
Ira was a man of deep integrity—intelligent, distinguished, and known for his loyalty, generosity, acts of kindness, and humility. He had the rare gift of making everyone feel loved, and his loud, robust laugh filled every room he entered. A considerate man who kept his word and carried himself with quiet strength, he found joy in simple beauty, photography, reading, and fishing.
He loved traveling with Jo Ann and capturing the scenery wherever they went. In every photo, Jo Ann was at the center—his true beauty. To her, he was the truest gentleman, devoted and tender. He will be deeply missed and always celebrated for the blessing he is.
Relatives and friends are invited to H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 22 Apple St., Norco, LA, on April 16, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM with a prayer service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan, LA.
