James Joseph Poche, Sr. passed away August 21, 2025, at the age of 93. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Patricia B. Poche. He is survived by his loving children; James Poche, Jr. (Helen), Tim Poche (Cristalle), Dan Poche (Suzie), Simone Cortez (Milton), Renee Agurcia (Mario), and Nicole Jacob (Troy). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family members who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded by his parents, Paul Poche, Sr., and Isabel Simon Poche; siblings, Paul Poche, Jr., Rosemary Hinkle, Gloria Catalano, and Helen Poprik, as well as his granddaughter, Olivia Sherrie Jacob.
James was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp and a Korean War Veteran. He was a former member of the Tulane Green Backers Club and an avid fan of his alma mater, Tulane University Football.
We would like to thank the staff at Ashton Manor and Hospice Specialists of Louisiana for the love and compassion shown to our father and family during this time. We would also like to thank our special Angel, Pat Bossier, for loving our dad like he was her own.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 401 Spruce St. Norco, LA, at 9:30AM with Mass to follow at 11AM. Burial to take place at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan following Mass.
