John Joseph Martin

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Maggie Martin; his children, John Mycal Martin (Amanda), Jason Nicholas-Joseph Martin (Destiney), Justin Matthew Martin (Jennifer), Jeremy Andrew Martin, and Leah Marie Ariélle Martin Folse.

John was the proud Pawpaw of Mycal Martin, Cole Martin, Reid Martin, Ella Jo Martin, Truett Martin, Jason Martin Jr., Alyssa Sanders, Adam Jimenez, Justin Martin, Jr., Allison Rose Martin, Jaiden Martin, Ariánna Martin, and Jeremiah Martin, and great-grandfather to Kolt Sanders.

He is also survived by his siblings, Geraldine Donaho, Mary Edmonds, and Wilson Martin Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Helen Martin.

John will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Known affectionately as Pawpaw, he loved tending his garden, raising his chickens, crabbing, and spending time in the spillway—his “home away from home.”

A Memorial Service will be held at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 22 Apple St., Norco, LA, on Friday, November 7, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. After the service, family and friends are invited to gather in the spillway to share memories and bid him a final farewell.
