Judy Ann Roussel Madere, age 84 of Destrehan, LA, passed on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at her home. Judy was born on April 10, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to Amilcar and Mercedes Bourgeois Roussel. She was a lifelong resident of Destrehan, LA, retiring after many years of serving as a Cafeteria Technician for the St. Charles Parish School District. Judy was a devout catholic and a dedicated parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael G. Madere, Sr., her daughters, Michelle Weaver and husband James and Jessica Madere, her parents, Amilcar and Mercedes Roussell, and her siblings, Gertrude Petite, Florence "Noot" Roussel, Gerald Roussel, Marvin Roussel, Truly Roussel, Allen "Bootsie" Roussel, Larry Roussel, and Andrew Roussel.
Survivors include her loving children, Michael G Madere, Jr. (Karin),
Bryan Maders (Yvette), William "Billy" Madere (Rebecca "Becky"), and Charles "Chucky" Madere (Heather); her sister, Elizabeth Vicknair; her grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, Theresa Weaver, Victoria Bourg, Simone Bourg, Kristyn Collier, Katelyn Madere, Paul Madere, Jude Madere, Shaina Duffy, Allen Madere, and Brie Briggs. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd, Destrehan, LA, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the funeral mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery in Destrehan, LA.
