Connie joins me in sending condolences to Lamont's family. We both worked with him at WTOL . He was unflappable, an excellent writer and anchor man. In addition, his wonderful outgoing personality shone through everything he did. His audience loved him, as did we who were fortunate to have known him. Our prayers are with you as you mourn his passing, while also celebrating a wonderful life, well lived. Gordon Ward

Sean and Lamont's family, I had the pleasure of working with Lamont at WTOL-TV in Toledo, Ohio, for a number of years beginning, for me, in 1963.
Lamont was a true gentlemen, a good reporter, a favorite anchorman and a mentor.
During our parallel courses at 11 we spent a lot of time together preparing newscasts, traveling to Washington, DC, for regular local congressional member interviews and sharing other off duty experiences.
Lamont was also a natty dresser, always on top of the current clothing trends, a trait I tried to emulate.
When he moved to the local PBS station, he was a good sport in taking some pot-shots at PBS for the Toledo Press Club's annual Ribs N Roast event that poked fun at all sorts of local, revered institutions.
After our paths parted, we still kept in touch around the holidays and that always made me feel good.
Lamont was a fine example for me, and others, to follow and I will always be indebted to him and his memory for what I experienced in our time together.
