Lawrence Joseph Golembiewski

January 19, 1949 – December 11, 2021
Obituary of Lawrence Joseph Golembiewski
IN THE CARE OF

H.C. Alexander Funeral Home

Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Golembiewski of Norco, LA passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born on January 19, 1949 in Detroit, MI to Anthony Golembiewski and Josephine Tolkacz Golembiewski.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sandra Simmons Golembiewski and was the proud father of Jonathan “Jay” Normand and Margaux Normand Chatfield (Jay). He is also survived by his beloved twin grandsons, Preston and Carter Chatfield and siblings, Carol Golembiewski Carroll (Jerry) and Chester Golembiewski (the late Jeannie).

Larry was a proud graduate of LSU, where he received his degree in chemical engineering and his MBA. He spent his entire professional career in the engineering field where he was everyone’s “go-to guy” for advice and mentorship. He was always amused that during his 30-year career at Shell he was known as “Larry G.” because none of his co-workers could pronounce his last name. Larry was an extremely generous and caring man who wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. He maintained an active social life and always loved to have a good time. He and Sandy enjoyed many years of traveling together, but their favorite trips were to visit their grandchildren in Philadelphia. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the animal shelter at Friends of the Animals, www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/donate
