Lee was born on October 17, 1951 in Natchitoches, LA to Odessa Martin James and Franklin Thompson James.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Odessa Martin James Winn; his step-father, Bill Winn; and his sister-in-law, Linda James.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Webb James; his three brothers, Arthur Martin James (Ann), Wayne Ray James (Carrie), and Carl Edgar James; his sister, Mary Kay James Greene (Jerald); as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Lee has always enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be fishing at his family camp or duck or deer hunting. His latest hobby was target shooting. Lee was a 1969 graduate of Natchitoches High School and he attended Northwestern State University. In 1976, Lee accepted a job as a Production Technician with Union Carbide. During his 30 year career with Union Carbide/Dow Chemical, Lee worked at various positions such as Shift Supervisor, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Response Team Instructor at the Texas A&M University Fire School, and Site Coordinator and Gate Keeper.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, LA on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche, LA.
