LeRoy was born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and lived in White Hall, Louisiana, during his early years. He later moved to Norco and eventually settled in Destrehan, Louisiana. He was the son of William (“Willie”) Pfister and Lillian Vicknair Pfister, and the oldest of five boys. He was predeceased by three of his brothers: James (“Jimmy”) Pfister of California, Paul George of LaPlace, Louisiana, and Allen J. (“A.J.”) Pfister of Texas. He is survived by his youngest brother, Roland J. Pfister (Rita) of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
In 1954, he married Dorothy (“Dotsey”) M. Andry (predeceased); they later parted. From this marriage, they had five children: Terry J. Pfister (Debbie), Glenn J. Pfister (Carol), David J. Pfister (Hilda), Sheila A. Duecaster (Ben), and Michael J. Pfister (Jennifer). He later married Vinna Belle (Kennison) Haines (predeceased), and they spent 38 happy years together. Through this marriage, he gained a stepdaughter, Emma Jean Mollere.
He is survived by four grandchildren: Misti M. Cutchens (John), Hollie E. Pfister, Jimmie “LeRoy” Pfister (Jessica), and Kayla P. Nosacka (Daniel); as well as three step-grandsons: Mark A. Smith (DeDe), Gregory Mollere, and Broderick Mollere (Donna). He also had over a dozen great-grandchildren.
After working a variety of small-town jobs—including Norco paperboy, mascot (the real DHS Wildcat), tender/hauler, body and fender man at Lousteau’s, and filling station attendant for “T.” He was drafted and served his country, with boots on the ground in Korea. Upon returning home, LeRoy built a career of over 30 years with Shell Oil Company in Norco. He began as a painter’s helper and worked his way up through the ranks before retiring in 1985.
In his later years, he enjoyed traveling, especially old-fashioned road trips to visit relatives and trips to the casino. Knowing he lived a good life, he will forever remain in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA on Saturday, April 11, 2026, Visitation will begin at 10AM with Mass at 11:30AM. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Saint Rose, LA.
