Manuel J. "Manny" Freitas

Manuel J. “Manny” Freitas passed away at his home March 22, 2018 while surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Bessie F. “Linda” Freitas. He is the devoted father of Michael Freitas (Beth) and the late Manuel “Chip” Freitas (Melissa). Grandfather of John, Casey, Hannah, and Micah Freitas and 4 great-grandchildren. Brother of Al Freitas, the late Maria Vicknair, Ann Holmes, Claudia Whitney, John Freitas, and Joey Freitas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel J. and Rose Weber Freitas.

Manny served his country in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Intrepid that picked up the Gemini III. He was a member of the American Legion Post 195 in Norco and retired from Bosco Brothers. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 401 Spruce St. Norco, LA, on Monday, March 26, 2018 beginning at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM. Burial to follow with military honors at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Saint Rose, LA.
