Marian Keller Wright passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the age of 93. Marian, known as “Matt” by family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Norco, LA and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Parish. She was a graduate of Destrehan High School, class of 1947 and retiree of Kaiser Aluminum after a 33 year career. Marian enjoyed fishing, maintaining her flowers and yard, traveling with family, playing cards, watching sports, and most importantly, being the best “MawMaw” around. Marian is survived by her three sons, William “Billy” Wright (Juanita) of Port Allen, Patrick Wright (Lisa) of LaPlace, and Douglas Wright (Kathy) of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren, Melissa Morris (Bobby), Megan Lee (Jeffrey), Michael Wright (Erica), Leslie Zeringue (Royce), Parker Wright and Reagan Wright; 7 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Maddie, Ethan, Harrison, Cameron and Connor. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and MJ (PeeWee) Keller; husband, John Wright; three sisters, Gladys “Sis” Lowry, Lucille “Lucy” Ayme, Dolores "Totsie" Geier; a brother, Ivan “IE” Keller. Visitation will be on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 401 Spruce St, Norco, LA from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, celebrated by Fr. John Marse. Burial will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan. We would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice, Inspired Living Memory Care and Maison Oaks Assisted Living for the exceptional care and love shown to Marian during her later years of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Joseph’s Hospice.
