Mary Ann Edwards Schexnayder

Mary Ann Edwards Schexnayder, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her best friend and caregiver Holly Barre Landry and family on June 12, 2026, at the age of 87.

Mary Ann lived a life defined by warmth, grace, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was always a sanctuary of love, laughter, and open doors. She found her greatest joy in the simple moments spent surrounded by those she loved most.

She is survived by her devoted children, Michelle Schexnayder Jeansonne (Glen), Richard Minyard (Christine), Rita Augustin (Jim), her cherished grandchildren, Tera Minyard Wilson (Nick), Ryan Minyard, Matthew Minyard (Joan), Brian Minyard (Natalie), her great- grandchildren and a community of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert C. “Tetan” Schexnayder, her son Robert T Minyard, and her grandson Wesley Sorrells.

We would like to thank Heart of Hospice, especially our nurse Hannah, and CNA Cindy for the exceptional care given when it was needed most.

A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at St Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan. Visitation begins at 10AM, Mass will begin at 11:30AM, burial to follow in the church cemetery.
