

Mayra Tabora White, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Born on August 29, 1950, in La Lima, Honduras, she graduated from Annunciation High School in New Orleans and later made her home in Destrehan, Louisiana, where she lived for the past 43 years.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, William White, Jr., and her beloved children and stepdaughter: Eugene Monteilh, Jr. (Maria Eugenia), Leah Monteilh Moreno (Dagoberto), and Marissa D’Antonio (Nick). Affectionately known as “Tita,” she was the cherished grandmother of Alexa Monteilh, Sofia Monteilh, Michael Paz (Chelsi), Aiden Paz, Ian Frank, Serena White, Destiny D’Antonio, and Kayleigh D’Antonio, and the proud great-grandmother of Liam and Jaxson Paz.
Mayra is also survived by her loving siblings, Leda Tabora Monteilh and Jose Aman Tabora, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever carry her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Hortencia Tabora; her brothers, Daniel, Sergio, and Allan Tabora; her nephew, Michael Jason Monteilh; and her in-laws, Ada and William White, Sr.
Mayra enjoyed a distinguished 40-year career in real estate, serving families throughout St. Charles Parish and neighboring communities with dedication and care. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in tending her garden, bowling, and caring for her home. She treasured Mardi Gras, especially riding on the floats, and was a devoted New Orleans Saints fan. Above all, Mayra’s greatest devotion was to her family. As the matriarch, she will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and unwavering love as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, on Friday, October 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the celebration of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
