Meryl Rockel Roussel

Meryl Rockel Roussel went on to meet the Lord on June 2, 2026, from her home in LaPlace, Louisiana. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and "Gran” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She put her heart and soul into serving her family, friends, Church, and her kindergarten students at St. Joan of Arc School, where she taught for 19 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mae Boudreaux Rockel and Daniel John Rockel, her sister Elaine Rockel Scariano, and her grandson Sean Singh Aranipour. She is blessed to be survived by her husband of 61 years, Carroll Peter Roussel, their three sons and spouses, Michael (Robin), Paul (Julie), Jeffrey (Candis), and her daughter-in-law Annette Trosclair Roussel. As well as her grandchildren Madeline (Zachary), Adam, Thomas, Daniel (Colleen), Zachary (Courtney), Emory, and Tanner, and great grandchildren Daniel, Jackson, Abel, and Autumn.

The family would like to thank Notre Dame Hospice and Best Care Home Services, with special thanks to Sonya, Karen, Karsandra, Tiffany and Mary.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life on June 10 at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W 5th Street, LaPlace. Visitation 10:00am – Noon

Funeral Mass at Noon. Interment, Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
