

Paul Edward Blocker Sr., age 84, passed away on August 27, 2025, at East Jefferson General Hospital. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Elenora and Walter Blocker, Paul lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a deep care for others.
He proudly served in the National Guard and later worked as a pile driver for T.L. James, a career that took him to oil rigs and carried him across the globe. Paul was known for his sharp eye as an observer of people, his love of reality television, and his unmatched acerbic wit. He was generous with his time and concern for others, always thoughtful, and utterly inimitable. He also shared many years of loyal companionship with his beloved dog, Scooter, who brought him great joy.
Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Blocker Williamson, and by his beloved canine companion, Scooter. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janice Blocker; his daughter, Catlin Hettel; his son, Paul Blocker Jr. and his wife Emily; his brother, Walter Blocker Jr. and his wife Gwen; his nephews Brandt Blocker and his wife Christine, Gary Blocker Sr. and his wife Linda, Tim Blocker, and Chris Blocker and his wife Tammy; his niece Linda Drake; and his grandsons Brandon Castille and Seb Suchoff.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. at H.C. Alexander Memorial in Norco, Louisiana.
