Rhodes "RJ" Joseph Bourgoyne

Rhodes “RJ” Joseph Bourgoyne passed away on July 8, 2015, at the age of 80 in Norco, Louisiana. Beloved husband of 55 years to Emily Hernandez Bourgoyne. He was born in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana to the late Victor Joseph and Cecile Brady Bourgoyne. Father of Jeffrey Bourgoyne (Leslie), Victor Bourgoyne (Connie), Allen Bourgoyne (Jennifer), Dennis Bourgoyne, and Susan Barrera (Alfred). He is survived by one brother, Oscar Bourgoyne (Yvonne) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Bourgoyne (Audrey) and one foster brother, Joseph Henry Bourgoyne. A proud grandfather of Troy DeWeese, Garrett Overton, Dakota Millwee, Griffin Millwee, Alfred (Carlo) Barrera, Caroline Barrera, Cash Bourgoyne and Phoebe Bourgoyne and one great grandchild, Gabriel Overton. He retired from Louisiana Gas Service Company/Citizens Utilities after 38 years of service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco, Louisiana on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11AM. Visitation will be from 9AM to 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Norco. The Bourgoyne Family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt “thank you” to Harmony Hospice for the care they provided during the final days of his life.
