Sammy Lamar Carruth

Sammy Lamar Carruth passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 22, 2022 at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma Lynn Hymel Carruth, and his children, Joelle C. Rosenbaum (Micah), Kevin Carruth (Monica), and Lauren Carruth. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Scott Perret (Linda), Hunter Perret, Kellan Carruth, Scarlet Carruth, and Mason Rayburn, and his siblings, Linda Moak (Larry), and Tina Hymel (Curt). As well as a host of nieces, nephews, and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mary Frances Carruth.

Sammy was a veteran of the US Air Force; he would go on to work for Dupont for 34 years. He loved to coach recreational football and baseball and was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and LSU fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and would love to hunt and help his wife in the garden. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, at First Baptist Church Norco, 626 Fifth St. Norco, LA, at 1:30PM. Visitation will begin at 12PM. Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA. www.HCAlexander.com.
