Stacey Martinez Perret

Stacey Martinez Perret died at 52 years old on November 17, 2021 surrounded by her family at home. She was born on February 27, 1969. She was a life-long resident of Destrehan and a 1987 graduate of Destrehan High School. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Lonnie G. Perret; daughters Lauren Angele Perret and Taylor Lynn Perret; sister, Vicky M. Cazentre (Stephen) and brother Larry J. Martinez, Jr. (Lenore); mother-in-law, Marie Elaine Perret, brother-in-law, Darin G. Perret (Sydney), and sister-in-law, Melissa G. Perret; nephews and nieces, Ashton Perret, Drake Perret, Emma Cazentre, Luke Cazentre, and Britten Martinez; and many cousins and friends. She was the daughter of the late Larry Martinez, Sr. and Bernadette Grenner Martinez. She was preceded in death by her nephew Andrew Paul Martinez. In 2020, she and Lonnie were awarded the Order of St. Louis by the Archdiocese of New Orleans for service to the church. At St. Charles Borromeo, she was a long time teacher of religious education, served on the Parish Council, lay reader at Mass, and volunteer for the Adoration Chapel. Stacey loved her God and loved her Church. She had a welcoming heart and never was known to turn away anyone in need. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
