Steven Michael Young

Steven Michael Young, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Steve was born on April 11, 1956, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Jack Bernard Young and Janet Lee Tucker Young. He grew up in Nitro, West Virginia, and was a longtime resident of St. Charles Parish.

Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Lee Young. He is survived by his two sisters, Kathy Young Baker (Rodney) and Patty Young, as well as his beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many extended family members who loved him dearly.

Steve leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Shally Keller Young; his three children, Michele Hebert (Jacob), Daniele Kitchen (David), and Michael Young (Faron); and his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Kitchen, Daven Kitchen, and Adleigh Hebert.

Steve was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew him and touched the lives of countless people. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, dad, Pawpy, and friend. He had an incredible love for life and especially enjoyed fishing, golf, and spending time with his family.

Above all, Steve loved his family deeply, and the love, lessons, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
