Theresa Ann Scanlan Heimel

Theresa Ann Scanlan Heimel, 72, passed away on January 28, 2026. A devoted wife, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, Terri will be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness, her spunkiness, and her love of life.

Born on August 31, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Theresa was the daughter of Cornelia Sullivan Scanlan and Harold Patrick Scanlan who both preceded her in death. Theresa is survived by her siblings, Robert Patrick Scanlan (Kathy) and Patricia Scanlan Stabile (Charles).

Theresa leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, William Patrick Heimel.

She is aunt to Robert Scanlan, Jr. (Don), Jeremy Ryan Lay (Therese), Ashley Bernadette Lay, Logan Corbett Murden (Derek) and great aunt to Abram Ryan Lay and Harrison August Murden. She was godmother to Tyler Paul Sax (Madeline) and Graham Mitchell Sax (Olivia).

She worked as a legal secretary with the Steeg Law Firm for 36 years.

A visitation on February 5, 2026, 9:00am to 12:00pm, will be held in her honor at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco, Louisiana followed by a closed burial at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum on River Road in Destrehan, Louisiana.

Her laughter, kindness, and generosity will remain cherished in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be greatly missed.
