Violet Martinez Teekel

Violet Mae Persilver Martinez Teekel passed away on Thursday June 4, 2020 at the age of 75. She was born in Bayou Chene on October 3, 1944 to the late Eugene “Boyak” Persilver Sr. and Cora Bell Brown Persilver Budd. Violet was one of eleven children; she is preceded in death by siblings Eugene “Junior” Persilver Jr., Harvey Persilver (Theresa), Hilda Weber (Manuel), Charles Persilver, Jeannie King (Jimmy), Audrey Budd and Lois David (Boogie) and is survived by Sydney Persilver (Sharon), Henry Budd III (Debbie) and Margaret Moore (Billy). Violet is the mother of Merin Templet (Dwayne), Lurecki Soudelier (Lloyd Jr.) and Shane Martinez (Vickie); grandmother of Marissa, Jacob, Matthew, Kayla, Courtney and Kelsie and great-grandmother to many. She is preceded in death by her first husband James “Jimmy” Martinez and her second husband Alton Teekel. She is survived by her longtime companion Henry “Buck” Badeaux and many of his family members. Violet always enjoyed sewing, socializing with friends and most importantly dancing. May she now dance with the angels. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion over the years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11AM. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM. Violet was a sister to James and I.She was a very caring woman who liked to have a good time.We had many good times together..We used to have family parties with the Badeaux family.She will surely be missed.Rest in Peace Violet.I know you are dancing with the angels and Jenny Lynn [Henry oldest daughter]who just passed a few months ago.She is also missed. love you girl.Fly high,I know you will...
